A cheery smile can mean a lot to someone in the hospital. When you come visit a patient at Deaconess Hospital, we ask that you to please keep the following in mind:

  • Try to limit visitors to two at a time and please remember that the patient can tire easily.
  • Children under 14 are generally not allowed to visit. Small children often carry infections and also often more susceptible to germs.
  • Check with the patient's doctor or nurse before bringing in food or beverages.
  • Please wash your hands before and after your visit.
  • Please refrain from visiting if you are ill.

Most nursing floors are open to visitors from noon to 8 p.m. Other units have special hours:

Intensive Care / Critical Care:

Please choose short visiting periods between:

  • 10:30 - 11 a.m.
  • 1:30 - 2 p.m.
  • 4:30 - 5 p.m.
  • 7:30 - 8 p.m.
Cardiovascular Surgery Recovery Unit:

Please choose short visiting periods between:

  • 9:15 - 9:45 a.m.
  • 3:15 - 3:45 p.m.
  • 5:30 - 6 p.m.
Rehabilitation Unit:
  • 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Weekends: 1 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.
Older Adult Mental Health Unit

  • 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • 6 - 8 p.m.
  • Weekends:
  • 1 - 4 p.m.
